Daikin IAQ Resource Center

In 2021, nearly 137 million Americans (around 40% of the population) resided in areas with deteriorating grades for unhealthy particle pollution levels.

Furthermore, compared to 2020, an additional 2.1 million people are now exposed to unhealthy air. That’s why at Daikin Comfort Technologies, we are committed to supporting indoor comfort and continuing the conversation with our customers.

Whether your customer is concerned about viruses and other airborne pathogens or just looking for better comfort, we offer a variety of products that solve all these problems.

Air Cleaning: Diluting, Filtering, and Fresh Air Intake

A single cubic foot of indoor air can contain more than 30 million pollutants—pollutants that can trigger allergies, asthma, sneezing, and general discomfort. Many air cleaners remove up to 99.97% of airborne particulates instantly.

Media Air Cleaners can capture up to 96% of airborne particles, and the replacement filters come in MERV 11, MERV 13, and even MERV 16 efficiency ratings. Media filters can last up to four times longer than one-inch filters, only needing to be replaced every 6-12 months.

Electronic Air Cleaners are even more efficient, and can capture up to 98% of airborne particles. They works by placing a charge on airborne particles and collecting them like a magnet. Electronic Air Cleaners come with reusable metal filters that can be washed in a sink.

Enhanced Air Treatment: Ultraviolet, Humidification, Dehumidification

Today’s tight, well-insulated homes can trap unwanted particles like mold spores, odors, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Once inside, they are circulated by the heating and cooling system.

UV air purifiers are installed in the HVAC Unit and/or ductwork and use ultraviolet (UV-C) light to disinfect air as it circulates through the ventilation system.

UV purifiers can be installed inside or on top of the coil to kill mold and germs and keep the coil clean. When combined with Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) technology, the activated carbon captures and eliminates VOCs, reducing odors and cleaning the air flowing through the ducts.

Mildew, mold, bacteria, and dust mites—all common allergens—thrive when indoor air gets too humid. And when the air is too dry? Your customers will likely complain about dry, itchy skin or damage to their floors and furniture. Lack of humidity can also make people more susceptible to infection.

These are the indoor air solutions your customers need right now. And, now, you can install them quickly and on demand, without having to introduce the lag and expense of a new heating and cooling system.
